  1. One day Pat Gaffney went to Fenshana to get his horse shod by Tom Rourke who had his forge there. When Tom had the horse shod. They swapped pipes as it was custom of the old people to swap pipes when they smoked.
    When they had done smoking and Pat was giving the pipe back he wiped it with his hanky. Tom laughed to himself and when he was giving back his pipe he put it on the anvil and cut off the mouthpiece.
    So the blacksmith excelled on politness.
