  1. A Song

    At last brave Michael Dwyer, you and your trusted men

    At last brave Michael Dwyer, you and your trusted men
    Are hunted oer the mountains, and traced into the glen;
    Sleep not but watch and listen, keep ready blade and ball
    For the soldiers know your hiding place, this night in wild Amall.
    The soldiers searched the valley and towards the dawn of day
    Discovered where the outlaws were the dauntless rebel lay.
    And round the little cottage, they formed in a ring.
    And called out “Michael Dwyer Surrender to the king”
    Thus answered Michael Dwyer “into this house we came
    Unmasked by those who own it, they cannot be to blame.
    So let those peaceful people unquestioned pass you through
    And when theyre placed in safety I’ll tell you what we’ll do.”
    It was done and now said Dwyer
