  1. Forts
There are a lot of forts in this locality. There are three in the Castle field. Every two forts are connected by underground passages. I am told that long ago little men lived in them. Standing on the top of one fort one can view another.
There are numerous forts in Carrowhubbock. There is one big high fort beside the sea.
In Hick's land in Killanley there is a fort. One can go into it and can go about fifty or sixty feet in it. One will meet a well then. It is a deep well. On the right hand side there is a room. There is a passage going from this fort under the River Moy. At nightime people see lights passing from one fort to another. There is a fort in Rolston's land in Lackensliva. There is a big well in it. When Mrs Armstrong lived in that locality and when she was making butter she sent to the fort well for a can of cool water. In the hottest day in Summer the water in these wells is very cold.
In Frankfort in Blakeney's land there is a big high fort. Until recently it was open but sheep were continually falling into it so it was closed in.
