    In the long run, the road got such an evil name for spirits, that the Clergy were asked to interfere. Immediately after this, no more reports of spirits being seen there, were heard abroad. Old people, however, mindful of those days will sometimes tell, around the firesides, of fearful happenings on the short mountain road to Tralee. They reason of course, that a sow and a litter of bonhams were unnatural on that hungry mountain top, and that their purpose was never good.
