    fairy and he asked him for a pot of gold. "Let me go," said the fairy, "and I will show you where it is buried."
    He brought the boy to a place where it was. He told him to go home for a spade to dig the ground and that he would get it.
    The boy ran home and told his mother. He got a spade and dug a hole where the fairy told him.
    He got the crock of gold and he lived very happy after.
    I got the above from my father, Mr. Charles Stephens.

  2. There was an old women there long ago who had two daghters. One was very beautiful and a great help about the house. The other girl was ugly and idler. The mother loved the ugly one best for she was her own
