    A dog getting the hysteria or "fits" was cure by getting some blue used for washing clothes mixed with a little blue stone and a spoon of bread soda all mixed together and put into a bottle containing some water and it was then given as a tonic three times a day to the dog.
    To cure the itch in animals they used to get sulphur lard and salt-peter and after mixing them together the mixture was rubbed on to the itchy part of the animal
    If a cow had the murren they used to boil nettles and then they gave her the nettle juice or nettle water to drink.
    When a cow got a swollen-udder goose-grease or palm oil or train oil was rubbed on to the swollen udder
