  1. With reference to strong men in my district some very strong men were John Cremin, and John Mahoney, both of Renasup, Gneeveguilla, Rathmore Co. Kerry.
    John Cremin took a bag of meal tied with a rope from Gneeveguilla to his own house - a distance of two miles Thade Cronin, Reaboy, Gneeveguilla, Rathmore, Co. Kerry was the best weight-thrower I know. He used to go to the Quarry Cross (Gneeveguilla, Kerry) to meet weight-throwers from Kilcummin (Killarney. Kerry.) At the great pattern that was there Jer. Twomey, Tareencaheill, Gneeveguilla, Kerry was a great runner.
