  1. The biggest races in this locality were at Killarney. They were held above the town, and there were horses from all parts of the country running there. We had races at Gneeveguilla, Co. Kerry in Conny Murphy's land and in Jack Brosnan's land of Coom (Gneeveguilla, Co. Kerry) and there were great races at this side of Ballydesmond (Co. Cork) at Glencollins.
Tureenglanahee, (Ballydesmond, Co. Cork) was also a noted place for races.
We have our own annual races at Knocknagree (Co. Cork) and very good races they are.
People come there from far and near every year, and have great amusement there.
At the old races at Killarney there used be tents for eating and tents for drinking, and very often two days races.
