- On St Stephen's day boys go around from house to house collecting money.
They do this for the purpose of burying the wren.
Sometimes they catch the wren alive and sometimes they do not
When they catch him alive they get a little branch of holly and decorate it with Christmas flowers. Then they tie him on to the holly with a chord and they take him around alive.
When they go into ta house they sing songs
These are,
"The wren the wren the King of all birds.
St Stephen's day he was caught in the furze.
