  1. The biddies go around gathering money for the biddy on the night before the first of February and on the first of February.
    First of all they make the biddy
    Then they get a long stick for her body and tie straw round it. Then they get a big turnip and make two holes in it for her eyes and put the stick on to it.
    It is the big boys who go around. Lately the people go round in the evening with bicycles. In this way they can travel a good distance.
    They go around from house to house and when they go in they play some musical
