  1. The local fairs are not held in this country.
    In Killarney the fair is held in the "Fair Hill". This place is reserved for the fairs and markets. In some towns the fair is held in the streets.
    There is about a month between the fairs in Killarney.
    There are four horse fairs kept there. The people have to pay tolls on the animals they carry to the fair.
    When people are making a bargain the buyer spits on his palm and the other man shows his agreement by hitting his hand. When an animal is sold some of the money is given to the buyer. This is a luck penny and it is usually
