  1. It is during shrove most of the people get married in this locality. It starts on the sixth of January and ends up on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday.
    If a boy or girl wants to get married first the boy sends an account to the girl that he is going to marry.
    It is a man that is sent with an account of the match for it is counted bad look to send a woman.
    If both parties agree they appoint a day to go to Killarney
    When they meet in Killarney that day they go into a public-house and they talks matter over. They also settle the number of cattle, and horses that are to go with the farm.
