  1. Some time ago a traveller visited the punch bowl at the summit of Mangerton mountain. Having heard that nobody every found the bottom of the lake he resolved to try. Stripping off his clothes and folding them on the bank he dived into the Punch Bowl. There was nothing seen nor heard of him for three months afterwards until the person who was with him the morning he jumped in received a letter from him telling him to send on his clothes as soon as possible that he had arrived safely in Australia.
