A woman dressed in white is supposed to be seen every night at 12 o'clock, crossing the bridge between Old-town and the Knocks.

Many years ago, when my Grandfather was residing at Blessingtown, a few miles from Naas, he was forced one night to leave the house at a very late hour, to get some water from a pump in the yard. When he opened the kitchen door he beheld the figure of a soldier standing on the step, a spear and shield clasped his hands. The figure then disappeared from sight.
