  1. O'Dempsey.
This is a story of a man who resided in this part of the Country, Leix and Kildare about one hundred years ago. He was then known as Cathair na gCapall. His proper name was O'Dempsey.
He was a high-way man. His whole ambition was stealing horses from rich people and giving them to poor people and he was never known to be caught.
He was followed day and night by police. The way he had of blinding them was taking off the shoes of the horses and turning them the reverse way. The police when they would be following him would follow the foot-prints of the horses and Cathair na gCapall would be gone the opposite way
