- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)A Magic Spring. My father is a farmer and he lives in Old Grange, about a mile from Monasterevan town. He employs two workmen, one of them is James O'Byrne. He worked with a farmer in Kildangan. One night as we were sitting round the fire he told us the following story of a magic spring.Mr. Lennox is a large farmer and he lives in Richardstown which is a few miles beyone Kildangan. In one of his fields was an oak tree. A few years ago Mr. Lennox had it hewn down, but he left a few inches of the trunk still there. He bored some holes in the stump, thinking it would rot. In a few weeks he came back to look at the stump and to his surprise he found a spring under the tree. He got the trunk scooped out in the shape of a well and soon the fresh water sprang up. He found that the water was good for drinking, so he allows any one who wants water, to draw from the well. When one bucket of water is drawn, one has to wait(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
