- All the farmers around this district sow potatoes every year. They are the most useful crop to the farmers. They use them for there own use and for the use of the cattle and pigs. They are grown in Bawn ground and are grown in tillage after lay-oats. The Bawn ground is ploughed up with a plough and two horses. Then it is ridged or somepeople sow them in drills and they plough four sods and plough them together and then a ridge is made. The same is done with drills only they plough two sods. Then when they have that done they get a grufán and hack it together. They draw out yard manure and spread it on the ridge. Then the farmers(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
