    2. When putting a churn out to air always put a pinch of salt in it to prevent the fairies from taking the butter.
    3. If a cock crow after dusk it is a sign of death in the house.
    4. Nine magpies seen together signify death in a townland.
    5. Four magpies seen together mean a death in the house nearest to them.
    6. To dream of white stockings is a sign of death.
    7. If a picture fall in the house it is a sign of death either in the family or among the immediate relatives.
    8. If a hen crow on the door step there will be a death in the family very soon.
    9. A rainbow over a house is a sign of death.
    10. To dream of an eye tooth is a sure sign of death.
    11. "Dead bell in the ear" is a Sign that some poor soul is wanting a prayer.
    12. If a man riding a grey horse meets a funeral there will be a death in the same family in the near future.
    13. When a coffin is lifted off chairs or stands these should be at once
