Ar an leathanach seo
- A highway man stole some gold and when he was about to be executed in Clonmel he confessed that he had hidden it in the double ditch between Clashbeg and Affoola. Tom Burke of Knockulty who died about two years ago went to look for the gold on a moon-light night, but he did not find the gold, he found a gun instead. It appears that old Michael Delahunty of Clashbeg, hearing that Burke had come at different times to search for the gold hid a gun in the ditch in order to scare him away. Having seen that the gold was thus guarded Burke made no further attempt to unearth it. The people of Clashbeg still believe that the gold lies concealed in the double ditch, but no prospective gold-digger has appeared since Tom Burke was scared away.
