    like a good many others was burnt. Some of the men when they were quenching the fire stole gold ornaments which the lady had in her parlour, and they became rich thereby.
    The next morning when all the storm was over the men found ten pound-notes and five-pounds and pound notes in the street.
    One man found a woman half-dead in a ditch. She had been out in a neighbour's house and the wind had carried her three miles fron home.
    It was the worst storm men ever witnessed.
