    Scéalta Crábhaidh.
    It is said that Our Lord was hanging on the Cross ,the robin came and picked the stray thorns out of his head -those which had pierced his head and remained when the crown of thorns were removed.
    In this way he is said to have got his red breast.

  2. Rudaí faoi leith go mBíonn Meas orthu.
    Holly and ivy at xmas .Left up till 12th Days.when taken down and thrown out or burned.Some dont take down till Shrove Tues.and burn them when making pancakes.
    Blessed palm kept12 months ,then burned.Special veneration for Easter Water.Shaken on cattle and members of family .Used for cow after calving -sprinkled on herself and calf.
