So the judge went home and called the case again and they did as he heard the lad say so. When they threw the foal into the river one of the mares ran along the bank looking out and the proper dame plunged into the river after the foal so they all agreed that she was the right dame so the man got the foal and the judge brought the lad and he turned out the best lawyer in the west of Ireland.
