  1. Weather Lore 17-1-38
Sky. When the sky is black looking
that is the sign of rain and
    when the mountains and hills
appear near we are told it is a
    sign of rain.
Sun. When the sun sets red, the next
    day is usually very warm.
Moon. When there is a ring around
the moon that is the sign of
rain and when it is far away
it is the sign of good
    weather.

Stars. When the stars twinkle at
night that is the sign of it
    freezing. You would often see
the shape of a plough and
harrow made of stars in the
    sky.
Clouds. I am told when the clouds
are rolling fast that is the
sign of rain and I heard that
when they are black or heavy
looking it is the sign of
    severe rain.
    R. Bow. When you get up in the
    morning you would often
see a rainbow and I am told
that it is the sign of rain.
