As he was passing by a forge where a smith was working, he asked the smith for a match. As the smith had no match, he brought him out a spark of fire upon the anvil.
He handed the anvil to "Fillpot" and the latter turned the spark of fire into his pipe, handed the anvil back again to the smith. The smith said "You are a better man than me".
There was another man named Thomas Martin who used to lift a large wheelbarrow with his teeth and walk a quarter of a mile with it.
