There is still the ruins of a house in Ballycordon Commons Youghal. It was owned at one time by people named Fitzgeralds whose descendants still live in the locality. The house was supposed to be very "airy" or haunted.
Once when the people lived there they had help at the harvest operations. They were drawing in corn and when the days work was over they spent the night probably playing cards or perhaps singing and dancing. They had large stacks of corn [made?] in the haggard which may be as high as 20ft.
