  1. On the north side of the Liffey, opposite Font Hill there are mills which are known as the Devil's Mills. There are one and a half miles from Palmerstown, and near the place where the Race, which conveys the water, which at one time supplied the water power for the mills, but was not allowed to do so.
    He then sold his soul to the devil, and the devil built a mill for him in one night.
    That is why it is called the Devil's Mills.
