In the year 1807 a priest named Father McCarton or McCarthy was murdered on the road which turns off the main road towards the lower end of Lucan village and the Woollen Mills.
There is a flag inserted in the high wall to mark the spot where the foul deed was committed.
On this are written the name of the priest, also the date,(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
