  2. In olden times the people of this district used to eat oaten bread. There was no flour and the old people do not remember any grinding stones.
    They used to make potatoe bread, oaten bread, and boxty. This is the way they used to make the boxty. They used to peal a few raw potatoes and then strain them and mix a few boiled potatoes with the raw potatoes and a little flour together. They used to make it a round shape and make it as flat as could be with a
