  1. William McNelis, Kentucky, Ardara age 101 told me the following accounts.
    Folklore regarding the weather.
    (1) Signs from the sky:-
The Sun:- When the eastern horizon is red when the sun is rising it is a sign of good weather. When the western horizon is red while the sun is setting it is a sign of great heat.
The moon:- If there is a far away ring round the moon that is a sign of a near hand storm. But a near ring is a sign of a far off storm.
The stars:- When the stars are very numerous and twinkle in the sky that is a sign of frost.
The clouds:- If the clouds pass each other very fastly that is a sign of a storm.
If dark yellow clouds are seen in the sky it is a sign of thunder.
