They are sometimes to be seen furling up and down around in clusters denoting a rainstorm and wind. They are great robbers for they take away eggs out of the farmyard and suck them.
Another common bird around this locality is the philbin. It has a grey topney and has a plumage of black and white. Its feet are like duck's. These birds are very useful to the shepherd. They devour the fluke snail and for that reason people are forbidden to shoot them. They rear their young in foot tracks of cows or in a rut in a tillage field. They lay about six or seven eggs and the eggs are spotted like turkeys' eggs only the philibins are very small.
