    Their passengers were thrown in the water.
    The disaster happened during the night and early in the morning
    one man herd the cries of distress from those who were still alive and struggling in the water.
    He gathered help and a number of fishing boats to their rescue. The succeeded in saving a few of this unfortunate people but the greater number had already perished.
    The fisher men of Carrowheel kept watch and after many days bodys came ashore.
    Some of them was washed ashore dead grasping their hands.
    The bodies which were indentified were taken to their homes for burial. Those who were unrecognised were buired in a field of Mr J. P. McIvor
