   But they made Sergeant Fahy surrender the Bridge of Gamahoe

   Then out spoke Private Reynolds, a man of courage bold

   The sergeant said "Cease fire my boys and the we will be let go
   And drive the cattle peacefully from the lands of Gamahoe

   The cattle were then collected and put out upon the road
   Driven clear out of the land we wanted as our own
   The police then went in search of them I want to let you
   For they are now assistant herdsmen on the lands of Gamahoe

   The Connolleys were arrested and lodged in Galway gaol
   They gave no information and the crown would give no [?]
   To the prison cell - that earthly hell, they manfully did go
   For driving MacDonalds' cattle from the lands of Gamahoe
