One day Kate Palmer went into James Hartes Cornlaughta Dromahair and told him and his wife that she would give them a can of daily if they would say certain prayers. The told her that they wouldnt take the soup. The house is still to be seen on John James Darcy's farm in Cornlaughta.

  2. In the year of the famine the Lough-na-hú road was made and the women and men who worked of the Locality.
    The people worked for three pence and four pence a day. The wemon used to carry stones in a creel to the road.
