Now, whenever this woman set a cask of poteen, she always left out a measure of it, a short distance away and used to say "Let ye have a good drink, now."It appears that the fairies were guarding the poteen for the old woman. That is why she always left a measure near the place for them saying "Let ye have a good drink now."
