of the Deffier hill, that is on the western side of Deffier. Along this road lived twelve families. The twelve cabins were in Thomas Mahon's land of today. There were many of these by the name of Gilmartin, some named Mulloney.
A Brogue Maker and an Noggin maker also lived along this road.
Two families by the name of Gallagher lived along road and in Shancurry. They were wiped out by the Black Fever of 1834-35.
The Black Fever was around Drumshanbo district even worse than the Famine.
There are two graves where two of these Gallaghers were buried.
In Earley's Bull Field there are a number of graves. This is in Shancurry.
A Couper lived on Lacky Barry's land in Drumsherriff. John Gettins[?] was his name. He also made Noggins and Spoons.
Another Noggin Maker lives in Drumsherriff on Jos Barry's turf bank[?] of today.
    The Famine swept these also.
