- St Patrick's Day.
Every one wears shamrock on St. Patrick's Day. Long ago people used to drown the shamrock - that means they used to drink a lot of intoxicating drink on St. Patricks Day.
They wore the shamrock on their shoulders. They made crosses from ribbons. Sometimes they made rosettes of different colours.
Now-a-days people wear badges and harps. St Patrick visited Oran. There is a holy-well in it. There was a statue erected there a few years ago.
St. Patrick was the first parish priest of Oran. People visit Oran on the last Saturday in July.- Bailitheoir
