  1. Jack Rowan's Ould Mare
There was, one time, a man in this county named Mécháll. He was "used to" going to the public-house to get "a drop".
One night "late in the winter he was coming home "sugach" as usual, when, all at one his way was blocked by the "biggest thing" he was ever saw.
The "bades of sweat ran down his face at the sight of the "thowsha" (as he called it).
He remembered that the "thowsha" if spoken to, would have to reply.
So he placed up courage and addressed it thus -
"What ghost, or, what goblin are you, or, what brought you there? when, to his surprise the "thowsha" replied -
I'm neither a ghost nor a Goblin but Jack's Rowans' Ould Mare.
