Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Crover Castle is built on an island at Lough Sheelin. There was a road long ago from the castle to Crover house. The great Edward O'Reilly of Breiffney lived there and the O'Reillys still own the castle. He defended it against Cromwell's army in the year 1649.
    Cromwell made the attack from the top of Ballyhanna hill without effect. He procceeded round Mountnugent and back down to the hill in Cunlin and attacked from there, with seven inch cannon ball and knocked the side wall in.
    After that, the cannon balls and the flint of the old flint guns were found there and also the swords and the spears were got. Some of the cannon balls were found in Dan Mc Cabe's fields where the people had carried them from the castle and had dropped them
