Whether this rhyme is true or not the people in this area believe it to be true. They prefer Monday to change into a new homestead, and they think that Monday is the luckiest day in the week. It is believed that if rain falls on St. Switen's day it will rain for forty days.
    People should start setting potatoes after St. Patrick's Day and have them set on the approach of Easter. When potatoes are set in the middle of Spring the farmer is sure to have a good crop in harvest, to have good yield.
