    N.B. I grandmother had of the battle was the previous day when she had
    N.B. II been sent by her mother to bind with her uncle at Faransight. She, her uncle John Keefe & a workman named Kelly had been working about an hour when Dwyer & 10 men came into the field & the minute they came up they bade each other the time of day & Dwyer said that one of them would have to go with them & Kelly said which ever the lot would fall on
    They drew lots & her uncle drew the long straw & he went on with them without a word & he got such a shock that he took the reaping hook away
