- She tole me that one day her brother was coming from Ballybeg where he had [?] ground (a rood of potatoes in this case) & he was coming down Coogan's Lane in Kyle when he walked into a soldiers baggage car. He got down into the field under the road & crawling along on his hands & knees but the soldiers heard him in the dead leaves & they fired. He could hear the bullets whistling over his head & cutting through the ferns that were growing in the fields around him. He got up & ran for all he was worth along a narrow(continues on next page)
