    Lambert burned the cabin. [Sting?] Byrne swore that young Jackson did it & the song went
    The Bloody minded [Sting]
    He swore away the life of Jackson
    Wasn't he guilty of an awful thing
    For burning the house in Ballyteigue
    Wherein he did long reside
    (Jackson's father meets Tate)
    He met Mr. Tate & he said
    Pull under Jackson & respect me as a gentleman
    And I'll not hang your child
    but Jackson replied that
    "Him nor his son was not cross
    born [or?] the son of a laundress
    (referring to the fact that Tate was illegitimate)
    There was another gentleman with
    Tate & he'd sooner he'd have shot
