“There was an ould man living in Ballyshannon and he was in bed thirty years...”
There was an ould man living in Ballyshannon and he was in bed thirty years , without ever getting out of it. They use say that he was going with the fairies whether 'twas true or not, I don't know. He was able to tell them when the sheep were yaning and everything - and he in the bed. This night they were discussing about ploughing a lea field for oats - and he was in the bed listening.
