    the narrator. "I went to work as maid in the 'big house' at Tarmon, convenient to the Sandford demesne. Sandford was the landlord of the town of Castlerea.
    Mr R. ___ Broderick lived in the big house. Mr R_ was a fenian, Captain, and at his death he willed his house and lands at Tarmon to his brother and his brother's family who lived in the town of Castlerea.
    While working as Maid in this house I heard many tales of the Fenians around Castlerea.

  2. The shooting of Y___ magistrate was regretted. It was the (general) opinion he did not deserve such a fate - There are two tellings of the story No 1- Young - magistrate, passed a severe, unjust sentence on three young men from the town of Castlerea.
    Mr Y___ was shot on the morning of the day that these three young men were released from jail.
    No 2- Mr Y___ was shot on Saturday
