    Melia taught the same things as Jennings but Jennings was a better teacher as he grew old he became very fond of drink. They taught in a barn in winter time and out by a hedge in summer time. They stayed in the house of a scholar at night. Each scholar paid a little money to the teachers each month. The scholars carried their few books under their arms and they had them tied with a leather strap.
