Until recently there were tall trees growing in "The Roy", but they were cut down for there was danger of them falling and breaking the headstones. Most of the trees on the fence still remain.
In one of trees there is a well about six feet from the ground. A remarkable thing about it is that it never dries.
There was once a monastery here but no trace of it now remains, because when the walls fell most of the stones were put over the graves. The Grey Friars lived in the monastery here at one time, round which there was a large mound to protect the inhabitants.
