- Food in Olden Times
In times gone by, people usually had three meals daily, the breakfast dinner and supper. They nearly always worked before breakfast. This meal consisted of buttermilk and porridge, the dinner consisted of potatoes and buttermilk and for supper they had potatoes and buttermilk again. Sometimes people drank souns instead of milk. This was made from the shells of the oats when crushed in the mill. First the shells were put in a milk-pan or can and some water was poured in. Then a lid(continues on next page)- Collector
