In the old house, when Tom Grady was putting in a new door, he was hammering the jamb with a mallet, when a piece of mortar fell out, revealing a long passage through the wall, extending behind the fireplace. They tried it's length with a long rod but it was not long enough. Must have been built into the house originally as a hiding place for arms. Eddie's father did not know it was there, but his uncle Anthony was Fenian.
