Amhrán
“My name is Pat O'Donnell, and I come from Donegal”
I am you know a deadly foe to traitor one and all.
For the shooting of James Barey I was tried in London town.
And on thatvshameful gallows tree my name was to be taken down.
I sailed on board the ship Milroy in August 82.
And then what followed after I will quickly tell to you.
When I found out he was Barney we had angry words and blows.
And that villain thought to take myblife on board the Milroe.
Sure I stood up in my own defence to fight before I'd die.
My pocket pistol I drew forth and at him I let fly.
The first round ibfired at him. It pierced him through the heart.
I gave to him a second one before I did him part.
