In the village of Rathmore about seventy-five years ago there lived an old woman named Peggy Gaughan. She was a great business-woman. She used to deal a lot in cattle and pigs. At that time the fairs of Lahardane and Ballycastle would be held on the same day in their respective towns. Peggy wanted to sell five or six head of cattle so she went to the fair of Lahardane on foot. She sold her cattle and she then walked to Ballycastle. She bought a cow there and walked home with her.
